Installation Marks Phase Two of Emmeci Installations at Pack Appeal, a Bindagraphics Company; Follows January Installation of Emmeci Slipcase Manufacturing Line

Baltimore, MD, February 28, 2009 – Pack Appeal, a division of Bindagraphics, announced today it has completed installation of an Emmeci MC 2004 MEB rigid set-up box production line. This highly automated equipment allows Pack Appeal to provide fast turnaround times on a wide variety of rigid set-up box applications.

“Rigid set-up boxes are fast becoming a popular packaging choice for products and brands where design and material quality are critical factors,” said Matt Anson, President of Pack Appeal.

Rigid set-up boxes feature a non-collapsible chipboard base and lid in either a hinged or two-piece design. Style choices include Ballotin, Frustrum, clamshell, sloped, hinged and shouldered. Boxes and lids can be wrapped with printed litho paper or one of many specialty wrap materials. Decoration options at Pack Appeal, including film laminate, UV coating, foil stamping and debossing, give designers plenty of choices for customizing rigid set-up boxes to meet the demands of their brand and customer base.

With the Emmeci slipcase and rigid set-up box production lines now complete, Pack Appeal has successfully expanded its end-to-end custom packaging production services. Pack Appeal Upgrades Slipcase Manufacturing Capabilities With Emmeci Installation
Newly renamed Mid-Atlantic packaging company completes phase one

Baltimore, MD, January 19, 2009 – Pack Appeal, a division of Bindagraphics, proudly announces the phase one installation of a high-speed Emmeci slipcase manufacturing production line. Pack Appeal is now competitive in high volume and quick turnaround slipcase design and production. Slipcases are often companion pieces for a wide variety of book, magazine and loose-leaf binder projects. In addition, the Emmeci can produce gameboard boxes, totes and multimedia boxes.

Scheduled for completion in February 2009, phase two of the Emmeci installation will give Pack Appeal the ability to manufacture “Godiva™ style” rigid set-up boxes.

“The Emmeci’s focus on automation allows us to produce high-quality slipcases at a rate that was previously thought impossible,” says Matt Anson, President of Pack Appeal. “We believe high-speed slipcase and rigid set-up box capabilities are an excellent complement to Pack Appeal’s existing line of binders and tabs.

“And the new product line can be decorated with any number of finishing effects – foil stamping, debossing, windowing, spot UV coating – to create high-end packaging that cuts through the clutter in the marketplace,” adds Anson.

Under consideration since Drupa 2008, installation of the fully automated slipcase maker was completed in January 2009.
